The Story of the Eight Immortals

According to an old Chinese legend, there once lived eight individuals who had done enough good deeds to allow them to become immortal, but they had to pass a final test by overcoming several obstacles put forth by the devils in the East Sea.

The eight individuals struggled together, swimming across the sea in the company of an Arhat. Each one of them contributing to the journey by utilizing his or her personal strength. In the end, by working together they all became immortal.
